Wall Art for July

Hello!! Ruthie here! Today I made this quilt block using the July Dozen Squares Quilt Block. I like it to put it next to my desk at work! I didn't use all the pieces only the center part. Added some polka dot blue ribbon and some dots with enamel accents and ready to hang it up and be festive!

Hope you like it!!!
See you next time!

July 4th Banner

Hi everyone, Esther here with another take on our darling July 4th banner!!

I created my cute swag using the 3d star and bunting swag kit, file #61239

For my cuts I used kraft, red, blue, and recycled white card stock along with patterned papers in Let Freedom Ring by Pebbles

To string it I used 1/4" gross grain ribbon with some red and blue wooden beads to add some interest.

Now to get busy with some more files to finish off my mantel for the 4th!!!

Happy 4th of July all!!!!

Goal | Soccer cup

Happy Monday!

Today we have a vinyl design from Lisa.

Lisa decorated this cup using vinyl and the 'goal' soccer design that you can find on the Silhouette online store HERE

This is such a fun cup that I could have used yesterday and today!  My family gathered together to celebrate my grand-children's birthdays and wouldn't you know that a TV was available at the club house were we celebrated and of course since USA was playing, we all had to watch and root!

This is what Lisa had to say about her awesome cup:

"I used green vinyl to cut out the word goal. I then cut out the soccer ball using yellow vinyl. I applied transfer tape to the yellow soccer ball and layered it on to the work goal. I then applied transfer tape to the word goal and applied it to the cup. A great gift for any soccer fan"

Fun Banners

Hi this is Lissa Marie here to give you some SnapDragonSnippits Design inspiration!  You can find them in the Silhouette Store or also at SVG Attic!  So my design here today is for my son.  He has been working hard playing school ball and umpiring little league after the games he is 14 going into 9th grade.  Then on June 2nd we had signed him up for Junior baseball, football, basketball and life was crazy!   When I was in school 9th grade you were still a peon until the end of the year when you got your class trip.  Nowadays if you are in sports and want to play football they have camp. So off to camp he went!  The one our high school chose is about 7 hours away they are gone four days at a Boise State University.  It was such excitement and so special.  So when he got home I wanted him to feel special and that we missed him.  (my daughter's idea to make him the banner though) as usual I just took over!  I used the football charms (Design ID #12453) in the Silhouette store and the Collegiate Letters (Design ID #13110) to make this.  Cutting the collegiate letters in vinyl.  Hanging it from a string. We actually had it in the living room when he got here but it went to his room today over our state's team banner.

A little closer view, it was a cute little craft and he actually liked it!  Now that is sayin' alot coming from my boy who doesn't like his mom to craft things to make him look different in front of friends!  Now he is begging for flames on his baseball helmet!

If I had more time I would have gotten much fancier but they were suppose to stop at the water park and come  home around 10 that night but it rained and no water park, 5:00 pm he calls and said Mom I am almost home can you come get me?  So this is what he got!

I am looking forward to the years of these college letters and numbers to use over and over again with both my kids.  Just hope it encourages him to GO to college!

Do you have a way you could use these little sports charms or letters?  If so I would love to hear about it!

Red, White and Blue Mantel

Hi there! Jearise here and I've started decorating my mantel for Independence Day and have some pictures to share. The files I used for most of these decorations come from Snapdragon Snippet but there is one special decoration that I made last year using the Vintage Nation file from SVG Attic. I liked the way it turned out so much that I included it again this year.

Here are individual pictures of the decorations with the files names and links.

Happy Father´s Day Neck Tie Banner

Good morning!1 Happy Friday!!! Ruthie here! As you may have notice I'm a fan of the banners!!! and for today's inspirational post I made this neck tie banner and I love it!!! I used the Neck Tie Banners and the Neck Ties.

For the HAPPY word I used the following files:  Neck Tie Banners: A-CNeck Tie Banners: G-INeck Tie Banners: P-RNeck Tie Banners: Y-Z and the Neck Ties for the chevron pattern.

For the FATHER'S word I used Neck Tie Banners: D-F,  Neck Tie Banners: A-C,  Neck Tie Banners: S-UNeck Tie Banners: G-INeck Tie Banners: P-R, and the Neck Ties for the chevron pattern too.

And for the DAY word I used:  Neck Tie Banners: D-FNeck Tie Banners: A-CNeck Tie Banners: Y-Z and the Neck Ties for the chevron pattern too.

Few tips:
  • The Neck Ties file was re-sized to the same size as the Neck Tie Banners in order to get the pattern on the tie because are different files.
  • I wanted to have some solid background underneath the letters and to get that I used the outline tool.

Hope you like it and have a great and fun Father's Day with the man of your life!

Re-sizing Patterns for Boxes

You can take a simple little box and turn it into a fun surprise for Father's Day or a masculine birthday. I made this fun 3D box combining two sets of cutting files:

I had to resize the patterns from the Griller's Gear Set to make it fit on the box but it was easy to do. I have detailed pictures below to show you the steps.

 Front of box

 Back of box

Top of box

How to step by step.

I brought the box into my program and made it the size I wanted to cut it out. The dark blue represents the sides of the box and the light blue represents the decorative panels. As you can see above, the apron pattern was too big for the decorative panel.
I centered the apron over the decorative panel on my cutting mat and I started to size it down to fit into the area of my panel. Once it was the size I wanted, I then cut and pasted the apron into a different screen. I did this with the grill on the back too. I used the side and top panels as a guide to size the shalt and pepper shakers and spatula on the top.

The above final diagram shows how all the layers will look just before cutting and the below picture shows the box with the cover off. I used pop dots to make the cutting files on the sides stick out and to stop the cover from going all the way down since I plan on putting a big bag of m & m's in here.

I also made a card to go with the box. I used a7 griller's apron card 5x7

I had some fun with this card. I used a beige for the apron but then went back with a brown chalk ink pad and inked the pocket edges and then just started dapping and streaking the rest of the apron to give it a worn look.

Below is the back of the card. The apron string wraps around the side of the card onto the back where a spatula hangs off of it. How cute is that?

Father's Day Treat Holders

Happy Wednesday everyone, Esther here.

Today I'd like to share a couple fun treat holders you can make for your special guy for Father's Day, or anytime for that matter.

My hubby is a contractor, so I thought these would be just perfect for him.

Although your guy might not be a contractor, I am sure he does his share of Honey-Do's around the house.

This fun drill will hold a Hershey bar or any candy bar about the same size.

The drill was cut with file #60421 Power Drill Shaped Candy Wrap.

For the tool box I used file #59662 3D Work Zone Tool Box Tote.

It would be a great little box to put a gift card in or some fun treats.

Happy crafting!!
